Enhancing Early Childhood Mental Health Training
Dr. Chaya Kulkarni, BAA, M.Ed, Ed.D (She/Her), Director of Infant and Early Mental Health Promotion (IEMHP) at SickKids Learning Institute, has spearheaded this initiative to expand access to high-quality mental health training.
With Thinking Cap we were able to create a professional space for learners where they could access and participate in learning opportunities, track their learning, access resources and obtain their certificates. In addition, in a commitment to creating a seamless learning experience we pushed TC to create a website that would also connect visitors to our website to the learning management system. It was a tremendous amount of work but TC rose to the challenge and today we have a website and LMS that are connected!
Dr. Chaya Kulkarni envisions Infant and Early Mental Health Promotion (IEMHP) as a catalyst for systemic change, ensuring that every child from prenatal to age six has access to mental health resources and support. With a strong background in education and policy, including leadership roles as VP at Invest in Kids and Senior Policy Analyst at Queen’s Park, she is well poised to direct this vision. As an adviser to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and an active board member at Gateway Community Health Centre, she prioritizes strong community partnerships, evidence-based training, and policy influence, reinforcing the importance of early intervention in shaping lifelong well-being
